Ned is a fictional character that was created by Tyler. He's a hairy creature with wing-like ears, black eyes and a big stomach. Ned shows Tyler's creativity, as reported in an interview. He appeared in the "Chlorine" music video and we grew to love him. He returned to "The Hype" in a music video and also got his own merchandise shop, Ned's Bayou in Columbus, Ohio. Since then he has made several appearances with the band, including the live performance of "Level of Concern" and in one of the videos seen for the Level of Concern USB driver YouTube Livestream, where he shows up briefly waving to the viewer. I decided to make my creation ned because he has such a big role in Trench, having a song dedicated to him and generally being really cute. I made this Ned out of clay and took around 3 hours to make, set, paint, and dry. One of my favourite songs in the Trench album is Chlorine, which was written and dedicated to Ned, so I had to make a tiny version of him. Tyler said in an interview that "Trench" was made because of Ned, “Ned really does represent a lot of things but specifically, I guess you would say… it really represents this idea of creativity and trying to take care of it and trying to please it… or appease it"
